Unfiltered Audio's Battalion is a drum machine that marries the depth of software with the performative fun of hardware. It combines an enormous number of synthesis and sampling engines with a deep sequencer and serendiptous performance controls. Battalion goes beyond simple drum synthesis by offering cutting-edge engines, including additive, physical modeling, and chaotic oscillator algorithms, and reinforcing it with a wealth of sample manipulation techniques like granular, phase distortion, and a novel spectral cloning algorithm. Battalion comes with a complete sample library with over 1,000 high-quality samples and a preset library designed by some of today's best sound designers.

Synthesis and Sampling

At the heart of Battalion lies its innovative dual-engine design. Each of the eight drum voices can toggle between a powerful synthesizer and a versatile sampler, allowing for a blend of generated and sampled sounds. Customize your drum sounds with over twenty synthesis engines including FM, Additive, Modal, and VOSIM, each providing distinct sonic characteristics and deep manipulation options.

Modulation and Effects

Battalion doesn't just stop at sound generation. It includes a full modulation system with eight mappable sources per voice, offering dynamic control over your drum sounds. Shape your tracks with the built-in Headspace Reverb and Shatter Delay, effects specially designed to enhance percussive elements, and especially in conjunction with the 3-Band Maximizer on the main output.

The Performance Page allows simultaneous control over all eight drum voices, while the novel Variation Engine injects natural articulation or generates full-on rhythmic patterns.
